Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures

Heinz History Center
1212 Smallman St 15222 Pittsburgh United States
Learn about the historical significance and monetary value of your family heirlooms at the History Center’s Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures event.

Nearly 30 appraisers will assess the historical significance of visitors’ items and provide a verbal assessment of potential monetary value.

KDKA-TV | CBS Pittsburgh's Dave Crawley, Mary Robb Jackson, and Lynne Hayes-Freeland will roam the History Center seeking the most interesting items for interviews. The most unique items will be featured as part of special 30 minute programs on KDKA-TV later this year, hosted by KDKA’s Ken Rice and History Center President and CEO Andy Masich.

Appraisers at the Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures event have expert knowledge on a variety of antique items, including books, china, militaria, coins, collectibles, furniture, glass, jewelry, paintings, photographs, quilts, silver, sports memorabilia, toys, and much more.

In addition to the appraisals, experts from the History Center’s Museum Conservation Center will be on hand at the event to provide tips on how to preserve visitors’ items.

Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures is included with regular History Center admission. History Center admission is $16 for adults, $14 for senior citizens (62+), $6.50 for retired and active duty military, $6.50 for students with a valid school ID, $6.50 for children (6-17), free for children under 5, and free for History Center members.
