As part of the Books in the ‘Burgh literary series, join the Italian American Program at the History Center for an evening of riveting Italian American storytelling. The program will include talks from Paul Gentile, author of “Salvatore and Maria: Finding Paradise,” and Isabel (Belle) Comis Degenaars, co-author of “Casada: A History of an Italian Village and Its People” and will highlight Italian American immigration stories.
Gentile and Degenaars will also be joined by architect and artist Guglielmo Botter of Treviso, Italy, author of “Un’americana a Treviso,” a biography about his mother, Italian American painter Lyù de Cortà Fumei.
Together, Gentile, Degenaars, and Botter will share personal stories about the Italian immigrants in their families that journeyed to the United States and made Western Pennsylvania their home.
The discussion will be led by former KDKA-TV reporter Mary Robb Jackson.
Admission to this event is free, but does not include access to museum exhibitions.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
